Boston Kimono Academy WAGOKORO

Boston Kimono Academy WAGOKORO is a branch school of "The Cultural Foundation for Promoting the National Costume of Japan."  Founded in 2015 by certified instructor Matsuko Levin, Boston Kimono Academy WAGOKORO has been bringing the beauty of kimono to Boston for over 10 years.

The elegant Japanese Kimono dates back more than two thousand years, and though rarely worn daily is still important in festivals and formal occasions, and is representative of Japanese culture, politeness, formality, and beauty.

Here at the Boston school, you can learn about the unique and beautiful culture of Kimono from one of our three licensed instructors.  We offer various services including: kimono classes where you can learn how to dress in Kimono properly and comfortably by yourself, professional dressing services if you need help wearing your own kimono, and kimono rental services if you do not own your own.  We offer rental sets for any occasion, suitable for men, women, children, and adults.  We have various kimono such as furisode, kuro-tomesode, houmongi, komon, yukata, hakama, haori, and many others.
